The Commission (see also EU) invites us to celebrate the 30 years of the European flag ...
And to do this they adopted the aesthetics of the first-one of our following photos... This is the aesthetics of a touristic, web-advertisement (!!!) emphasizing to the "Europe as an Umbrella" and the "Euro as the Shining Sun". (A successful comment of the Euro becoming so un-reachable and… dangerously burning…).
In this concept, did you manage to notice any values or ideas celebrated? No-one but the one-and-only and dominant: The dipole "shiny-happy-open-market & stupid-empty minded and flat-consumer"! There is nothing else (check the link -in the top of the photo bellow- to be sure ...).

But OK... let’s not be unjust... There is one more little thing, a contest... A contest for a celebrating new coin...
Don’t thing about a European Competition of school children from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, asked to design what Europe means to them and put their draw in coin or a banknote... R U CRAZY?! Who’s ready for such a big risk???!!!
They propose five coin-designs from which they ask the people to choose… A typical multiple choice once again ... such as our elections, our democracy and our exchange of ideas in general...
And they are five wonderful designs indeed... The 3rd and 4th proposals are presenting the fraternal nations (appearing equal…) dancing in a kind of a line, very similar to the Greek dances of Tsamiko and Kalamatiano! In the 2nd design a man and a woman are giving each-other a big happy hug... in such a joy for the... common market! The 1st design includes an olive-tree branch together with a waving flag… and... It is only the 5th of the designs that somehow escaped from the attention and managed to introduce an interestingly sincere point of view… A dominant spiral-shaped horn (like the Italian “corno” or the Greek “kerato” and their rich symbolism)... a spiral kind-of trap direct reference to the economic recession and the countries - presented as stars - fastened so nicely on the spiral-horn, fading inwards, unable to escape...
This 5th design (the most ugly and really not elaborated)..., this one bearing reasonable design-improvement would be the one I could vote for...

But I suggest that Greece, being permanently disordering and disturbing, should submit her own independent proposal...
You see, today is not only the Celebration for the 30 years of the European Flag (which, of course is not just one-day celebration) but it is also a double Greek and European Celebration for two more, most important, reasons!
First is the Celebration of the Rescue Day of our Country with the historical “Announcement of Kastelorizo”, made five years ago by GAP (George A Papandreou). Keep in mind that according to the most powerful European leaders and some most significant IMF officers this is the Rescue Day of Europe, the Eurozone and Euro, and the Banks and even the whole Financial System… Remember their not rare official statements that it was a conscious choice to sacrifice Greece in order to save all the above (!) and of course all this “success” started with GAPs’ historical “Announcement of Kastelorizo”. The second Celebration is -of course- the name day of the European hero -GAP- George A. Papandreou!!!
So what we really have is three Celebrations, all both Pan-European and National!!!
We, Greeks… we are proud to propose to the rest of Europe to include all the three significant celebrations into one single Celebrating Coin that captures and honorees the deepest meaning of this Glorious Day!... So let us all welcome it… and let's cheer and scream "Heil-Heil-Heil!!!" for the GAP-COIN! (Following photo)

We should bear in mind that GAP was responsible enough to wear a tie... back then (and he still does…) and therefore he meets all of the most important European requirements to be a propper European colleague… partner... escort...
