Here we are,
just two days from local elections and one week from Euro-elections 2014.
The dominant story a few hours ago -and we mean nationwide, at least...- became the article of the Financial Times about the so called "plan Z" that discusses the way the threat to expel Hellas out of Eurozone and European Union was forwarded to the Hellenic side the period before the national elections of 2012...
But what was the dominant reaction to this?
The politics and the media started a conversation about the ways politics run within Europe? Do they talk about the "HellasGate"? Do they talk about the "scandal" of “the manipulation of our national policy” which took place through such profound and brutal political acts of circles and decision-centers outside our Country and distant from the formal European policy and the institutions of Europe? Do the politics and the media question the Democratic rules and the lack of Democracy in its essence and definitely in its practice in Europe?
Does this produce further reactions in formal policy and diplomacy of Hellas?
No, not at all! No such discussion raised by anyone! Everything is OK and runs smoothly within Europe...
The only reaction, again from politics and the media, was the recognition that the central dilemma of the, so called, "memorandum defenders", the dilemma that stated: "Either we stay in the track of the "memorandums no1, no2, no ... who knows when it ends" or we will be kicked out of the Eurozone and European Union", was based on facts and was a real dilemma.
So, they argue, the "memorandum defenders" were not bluffing and even more... they were right!!!
End of discussion...
But lets take the things from the start...
We may did not know the name of the "plan Z" but in 2012 everyone in Hellas was aware that most of our Country's power to negotiate for a better rescue plan was lost within the two previous years of George Papandreou's and PASOK governance!!! This was the period of the first memorandum in which we enter without any negotiation and any provision to protect our Country, our valuables and more than anything our people and our society!!! At that point we could prove that part of the debt was unfair and non-existent, constructed by centers of interests that attacked our economy aiming to gain access to every productive sector (energy, tourism, transports etc.) literally for free!!! At that point we could ask for a fair deal of a measuring/counting of our debt by independent authorities (so that neither side would feel that was entering into an unfair situation). At that point we could demand a fair deal knowing that the banks of Europe had a lot to loose from if Hellas would be forced to leave Eurozone and Europe.
But George Papandreou’s job was exactly that... To buy the time, the two years' necessary period for all European Banks (mostly germanic and the Central Bank of Europe) to get rid of all Hellenic titles that would cost them huge in case of Hellas was kicked out of Eurozone and the consequential complete failure of our economy! And he did really well in his task! Those two years passed with Hellas completely defenseless with him, the Prime Minister to insist that the structure of the state, the officials and even the population, we were all drown into a sea of corruption and we deserved the worst to come upon our heads. So it was all, our fault and it was not an attack to South Europe but just a Hellenic matter...
So, catastrophe came and in 2012 the game -in terms of our power to control the situation- was almost completely lost and all people within the Country were well aware of that... No-one can forget the open and not at all rare statements of Mr Schäuble that Hellas could leave, the Eurozone and Europe without any consequences for Germany, Germanic Banks and for Europe as a whole, all being much better prepared for such an incident than two years ago... He also stated that we, Hellenes, should vote as we were indicated to... (!!!)
Probably, then, the article of the Financial Times about the so called "plan Z", does not uncover anything new for us that would be of great significance. We know, pretty well, who are those we are dealing with and shall not forget...
You see... we did not only suffer the consequences of the unspeakable first deal of Papandreou but also a completely unfair absolute contempt from all European people (mislead in their judgment by even our Prime Minister) and their will to punish the corrupted ones... A will that was taken to the extremes by a bizarre medieval kind of hate easily cultivated within their minds and their visible satisfaction of observing the pain of the torture over people who never directly did them wrong... They only had a blur idea that those in punishment had stolen money, again not directly from them, but from their taxes... In addition they were completely reluctant to detach from their pleasure to observe the suffering even when they were clearly told that they also owed lots of money which they did never pay!!!
For us, Hellenes the key factor of the whole story is right there and no foreign will ever understand that we do not step back on that!
In terms of our national policy the whole thing is concentrated in our will not to forgive or forget the insufficiency of most of our politicians to protect our honor and the nation!
Still there is one -not small- detail that the article of the Financial Times about the so called "plan Z" forgets to mention! In 2012 and before our national elections the deals that would determine the future of all Hellenic "valuables" (energy, tourism, transports, mines etc.) were not made and though the ability of Hellas to be free to approach most beneficial solutions was severely reduced by the memorandum and the subsequent laws, the european and european-friendly interests were not yet brought and safely established in Hellas.
This was the last weapon in the hands of Hellas to significantly better the situation and clearly means that really no-one sober (rather than Schäuble) would prefer Hellas to be forced to leave Eurozone and Europe...
Does that prove anything?
It only proves that the only mistaken conclusion drawn from the article of the Financial Times about the "plan Z" is the one-and-only..., the single conclusion drawn, in Hellas, by the politicians and the media!!!
It is obvious that the dilemma: "Either we stay in the track of the "memorandums" or we will be kicked out of the Eurozone and European Union" was clearly a false dilemma and maybe a bluff (!!!), because we had still important things to negotiate! Things that prove even today that nobody would be satisfied by the expulsion of Hellas from Eurozone and European Union!!! And those negotiations needed real national leaders to be carried out and not submissive successors of George Papandreou and his governance scheme!!!

So, we shift from 2012 to 2014, after years of great suffer and repeated humiliations and brutal undemocratic interventions and it is now the time of elections...
We have to decide...
NOT if we will keep negotiating with our -so great- "european colleagues". This is a decision made and a path taken...
We have to decide whether it is time to be us the ones who will punish those responsible for the injustice to our people and our nation as a whole!
And we should start from our own politicians and representatives and we should make our statement within Europe and help her to remove the brutal and violent undemocratic representatives involved in the leadership of all great nations of Europe!
