Summer-night stories ...
This night-butterfly stayed days just like glued - completely undisturbed - somewhere on the wall.
She balanced with her wings open against the vertical surface and with her abdomen and legs facing the gap in front of her.
Sized less than the nail of my thumb...
On the 2nd or 3rd day I was curious - I thought, she was dead and stuck there - and I touched her tail lightly and all of a sudden she reacted and - not at all dead - she shook her wings just to come back to the wall a few centimeters lower... with the same strange style that defied gravity!
She stayed there ... just two centimeters from the huge hand that had annoyed her, looking like she was stareing the endless - for her size - gap that was open in front of her, the tremendously huge... 4m x 5m room. From there, she continued to keep track of our coming-and-going and all our actions, completely detached, unparticipative and fearless... As she has done for the last three days...
I remember myself thinking that she was probably the perfect model for the ideal reporter-jurnalist... Fearless when facing the chaos, unaffected and persistent observer.
I got my smartphone and took 2 photos of her with flashlight that did not seem to bother her at all.
I saw the photo of this bug that was not big enough to even fill the surface of my thumb's nail... This change of scale, resulted by the close-up, dramatically affected her image...

So here is the night-butterfly looking at the gap and the view that the gap offers, and not to the wall... and the security it provides... and yet she remains... modest and humble.
Maybe she knows that even the gap and the chaos have more possibilities to offer than the walls.
